xHP - Flash Settings

⚙️ Quick summary

This page explains how Flash Settings let you fine-tune your transmission’s behaviour.
It covers the difference between absolute and relative adjustments, how to preview available settings, and how to import/export your custom profiles safely.

🚘 Transmission-Specific Settings

For detailed explanations of the available options for your gearbox, see:

🔧 About the Flash Settings

Flash Settings let you fine-tune how your transmission behaves — from shift speed to torque limits.
You can use them with your factory calibration, any OTS map, or your custom maps.
All changes are applied safely within the limits of your transmission.

You can, for example:

  • Adjust D- and S-mode shift maps

  • Modify shift speeds and firmness

  • Tune launch control

  • Set torque limits per gear

  • Import/export settings to share or back up your setup

Absolute vs. Relative Functions

Flash Settings use two types of parameters — absolute and relative.

Absolute Functions

You define a fixed value that applies to every map you flash.
Example:

Torque limit in 1st gear = 500 Nm
→ This limit applies to every map you flash, no matter the base calibration.

Relative Functions

You apply a percentage-based change (“delta”) to existing map values.
Example:

Shift 2–3 earlier → set –15%
→ xHP adjusts that shift 15% earlier throughout the map.

Relative settings make it simple to fine-tune shift maps and other behaviours without knowing the raw calibration data.
xHP automatically ensures all values stay within safe and logical limits.

🎛️ How to View Your Car’s supported Flash Settings

You can preview all available Flash Settings for your specific car without a license:

  1. Connect the app to your car

  2. Tap your vehicle

  3. Select “FLASH THIS CAR” → “Edit” (next to Flash Settings)

Each transmission type (6HP / 7DCT / 8HP) has its own supported functions, some may differ due to technical limits.

🔁 Import & Export Settings

Easily share or back up your custom setup:

  1. Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the Customisation module

  2. Choose Export to save or share your file

  3. Choose Import to load another user’s settings

🧩 Compatibility:

  • 6-speed ↔ 6-speed only

  • 7-speed ↔ 7-speed only

  • 8-speed ↔ 8-speed only

  • 7DCT F-series and E-series have limited cross-compatibility

Importing between different engines (e.g., 550i → 320d) will adjust settings proportionally rather than identically.
Transferring such Flash settings makes little sense.

You can restore any previous Flash Settings from Flash History:

  1. Open your vehicle’s Flash History

  2. Select a flash operation

  3. Scroll down → tap Restore

You can also export the settings from a specific flash operation for review or backup.
